Geoff O’Meara - Co-founder|Development|Yoga Teacher Before moving to Leicester, Geoff was the Prison Yoga Program Director for the American non-profit organisation ‘Community Yoga’. He was trained in the Living Yoga Program in Austin, Texas. Through sharing the practice of yoga with thousands of incarcerated men and women, he witnessed time and again the discovery of wisdom and simple contentment amidst the most challenging of circumstances. Acknowledging our shared struggles, Geoff's classes offer the tools of yoga as an antidote to the mental, physical, and emotional obstacles – stress, trauma, anxiety, addiction, negative thinking – that we all negotiate in life. No matter the class level or focus, Geoff is most interested in nourishing a yoga community that imparts the strength, support, and stamina required for individuals to enjoy a deeply transformational personal practice and then carry the benefits with them out into the world. Jules Gundry|Development|Yoga Teacher|Reiki (Master) Variety has always been the spice of life for me, learning, experiencing, exploring and harnessing the fruits of all of these. My yoga journey has been built on this same love of life, attending many classes, retreats, workshops and trainings, building an intuitive style of practice, rich in diversity and connection to the question 'what do my body and mind, heart and soul need right now?'. My true passion is nurture, healing and harmony, so there is always an emphasis on nourishment within my practice and teaching. Having sustained various injuries over time, I understand the necessity to practice with intelligent personal choice, according to the changing states of our body and mind, our natural energy system, correct alignment, effective breathing, and complete surrender to the mat and the moment. Although my fundamental focus is upon well-being for children and adults with special needs, I am also trained in Kids & Teen Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Yin Yoga, Sports Yoga, Reiki (Master), Gentle Touch Reflexology for Babies and Children and Crystal Healing. Emily Hartley - Yoga Teacher Emily was first introduced to yoga by a Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor and Buddhist monk whilst living in Taiwan. Having suffered with unexplained bouts of anxiety and mental unrest for many years, she came to find release and relief through a consistent yoga, meditation and Qi Gong practice. Excited to share this gift with others, she travelled to Rishikesh, India in 2018 to complete her 200-hour TTC in Ashtanga and Hatha yoga. Now, Emily brings this awareness of the self and mind into her own classes. Her flows incorporate specific pranayamas (breath practices) to nourish and calm the nervous system, and asanas (physical poses) which aim to release tension and conflict in the body and mind. Having recently moved back to the UK, Emily is seeking to connect with the diverse Leicester community through her practice. She collaborates with local yogis and healers to organise events and fundraisers which aim to bring awareness to some of the issues we face today. During the day, she swaps meditation for maths, as she is a primary teacher in an inner-city school. She feels lucky to learn from the 13 nationalities in her classroom every day, and enjoys travelling and engaging in further yoga teacher training during the holidays.

Jo Derbyshire - Yoga Teacher Jo comes from a dance background originally, dancing since the age of 6 years old. After training, she toured with dance troupes all around the world and worked as a professional dancer in Europe, Central America, danced in a circus in Mexico, floor shows in East Asia to name but a few. Jo came across Bhakti Yoga ( Devotional service ) first, in her early 20's and has been practicing for over 25 years. Serving, chanting and meditating has helped Jo through her most difficult and most poignant times in her life. It opened her heart, mind and soul to the beauty of what a "yogic" life really means. Jo was first introduced to Hatha yoga, during her third pregnancy (with her daughter Satya-sara,), 23 years ago and felt the full benefits of hatha yoga and pranayama. Also Jo had suffered an injury during a show, leaving her with a severely torn hamstring and realised then that her body could not withstand the impact of high energy, stage dance any longer and found the natural progression to Hatha yoga kinder and more fulfilling. Jo is also qualified as a 200 Hour Sun Power yoga teacher. Having the combination of Bhakti, Asana and Pranayama in her day to day life has changed Jo’s life completely. Helping Jo to become more peaceful and compassionate towards heryelf, others and all living beings ( Ahimsa ). To be grateful for the life that she has been given, making every effort to be humble, more tolerant and seeing the best in everyone that she meets.

Gary Ward - Yoga Teacher|Yoga Therapist From an early age I had an interest in meditation and spiritual practices but it wasn’t until I came to Yoga, out of curiosity in 2005, that I found an approach that could sustain this curiosity and interest. I started practicing Astanga Vinyāsa Yoga and from there I explored the other teachings and systems of T. Krishnamacharya’s Yoga through his student Srivatsa Ramaswami and Paul Harvey a direct student of TKV Desikachar. My interest is with the physical, energetic, mental, emotional and philosophical aspects of yoga. I enjoy exploring ideas regarding our existence, our purpose and our relationship with nature and each other. I am a keen gardener and biodynamic vegetable grower, I find this a wonderful heartfelt activity that compliments and enhances my philosophical curiosity and understanding. I am a certified yoga therapist and yoga teacher since 2009, and accredited to teach yoga by the British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) and have completed the Professional Practitioner Yoga Teaching & Therapeutic Healthcare Training Programme with Centre for Yoga Studies (cYs). I also work with the Prison Phoenix Trust who support me in teaching yoga to those who live and work in prison. For more details and class full class info see: www.yogaleicester.co.uk
